Hear It Straight from the Team!

In this short video, our division supervisor walks through what it’s like to work at FORJAK. In this video, our supervisor explains what you can expect on the job, how our teams work together, and what it takes to succeed here.

Built Differently. Owned Together.

FORJAK Industrial isn't your typical construction and coatings company, and we're not looking for a typical Industrial Blaster.

Founded in 2001 in Circleville, Ohio, FORJAK was built on a simple belief: the people doing the work should share in the success. That's why in 2022, we became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company. When FORJAK wins, you win — literally.

We live by four values we call FIRE: Family · Integrity · Resilience · ExcellenceFIRE represents the spirit that fuels FORJAK — who we are, how we work, and what we stand for every day.

The Role

The Industrial Blaster is a critical part of our Blast Plant Division. You'll be responsible for operating blast equipment to prepare metal and steel surfaces to project specifications, maintaining quality standards on every piece that passes through the plant, and working safely in a demanding industrial environment. You'll do it with the grit and ownership mindset that defines everyone at FORJAK.

This isn't a clock-in, clock-out job. This is a career with a company that has your back, and proof of that is written into our ownership structure.

What You'll Own

On a given day, as an Industrial Blaster, you will:

  • Operate blast equipment, including blast pots, nozzles, and related tools, to clean and profile metal and steel surfaces to specified SSPC/NACE standards and project requirements.

  • Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to verify profile depth, cleanliness, and overall quality meet project specifications prior to coating application.

  • Set up and break down blast equipment at the start and end of each shift, including hose connections, media loading, and equipment checks to ensure safe and efficient operation.

  • Monitor blast media levels, equipment pressure, and nozzle condition throughout the shift, reporting any equipment issues or malfunctions to the Blast Plant Prep Lead promptly.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including containment of spent media, dust, and debris in accordance with plant housekeeping and environmental standards.

  • Adhere to all FORJAK safety policies, OSHA regulations, confined space entry procedures, and PPE requirements without exception; safety is the first standard every shift.

  • Collaborate with handlers and the Blast Plant Prep Lead to keep production moving efficiently and on schedule.

  • Adhere to all company safety and work policies.

  • Remain flexible, taking on miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership to support evolving organizational needs.

Do You Have What It Takes?

We're not just filling a seat. We're adding someone to a team of owners.

You must bring:

  • Prior experience in industrial blasting or surface preparation or a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn; FORJAK will train the right candidate.

  • Ability to operate in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Willingness to work in conditions that include abrasive media, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.

  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, project specifications, and safety procedures accurately.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to stay organized under pressure.

  • A team-first attitude—ego doesn't build great things, people do.

Even better if you have:

  • Familiarity with SSPC surface preparation standards (SP-6, SP-10, SP-5) and anchor profile requirements.

  • Experience with pressure blast pot operation and nozzle selection.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

  • Confined space entry training or certification.

How You'll Know You're Winning

Great FORJAK team members don't just complete tasks; they move the needle.

You're winning when:

  • Every surface you blast meets spec the first time no rework, no shortcuts.

  • Your equipment is set up right, running clean, and handed off in good condition.

  • You're trusted, consistent, and people want to work alongside you.

  • You're growing in skills, in responsibility, and as a co-owner of this company.

  • You bring FIRE to everything you do.
