Hear It Straight from the Team!
In this short video, our division supervisor walks through what it’s like to work at FORJAK. In this video, our supervisor explains what you can expect on the job, how our teams work together, and what it takes to succeed here.
Built Differently. Owned Together.
FORJAK Industrial isn't your typical construction and coatings company, and we're not looking for a typical Industrial Coater.
Founded in 2001 in Circleville, Ohio, FORJAK was built on a simple belief: the people doing the work should share in the success. That's why in 2022, we became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company. When FORJAK wins, you win — literally.
We live by four values we call FIRE: Family · Integrity · Resilience · ExcellenceFIRE represents the spirit that fuels FORJAK — who we are, how we work, and what we stand for every day.
The Role
The Industrial Coater is a critical part of our Blast Plant Division. You'll be responsible for applying industrial protective coating systems to blasted metal and steel surfaces, maintaining quality standards on every piece that moves through the plant, and working safely in a demanding industrial environment. You'll do it with the attention to detail and ownership mindset that defines everyone at FORJAK.
This isn't a clock-in, clock-out job. This is a career with a company that has your back, and proof of that is written into our ownership structure.
What You'll Own
On a given day, as an Industrial Coater, you will:
Apply protective coatings like epoxy and polyurethane to metal and steel surfaces using methods such as airless spray, brush, or roller.
Mix and prepare coating materials according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements, ensuring correct ratios, pot life, and environmental conditions are maintained before and during application.
Inspect surfaces prior to coating to confirm that blast profile, cleanliness, and surface temperature meet project specifications and are ready for coating application.
Verify coating quality throughout application by monitoring wet and dry film thickness, coverage, and finish consistency in accordance with project requirements.
Set up, maintain, and clean coating equipment, including spray equipment, hoses, and mixing tools at the start and end of each shift to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and disposal of coating materials, solvents, and waste in accordance with plant and environmental standards.
Adhere to all FORJAK safety policies, OSHA regulations, confined space entry procedures, and PPE requirements without exception. Safety is the first standard every shift.
Adhere to all company safety and work policies.
Remain flexible, taking on miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership to support evolving organizational needs.
Do You Have What It Takes?
We're not just filling a seat. We're adding someone to a team of owners.
You must bring:
Prior experience in industrial coating application or surface preparation or a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn; FORJAK will train the right candidate.
Ability to operate in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work in conditions that include coatings, solvents, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions, project specifications, and safety procedures accurately.
A team-first attitude—ego doesn't build great things; people do.
Even better if you have:
Familiarity with industrial coating systems, including epoxy, polyurethane, and other protective coatings.
Experience with airless spray, plural component, or brush/roller application methods.
Knowledge of DFT measurement tools and basic coating inspection practices.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Confined space entry training or certification.
How You'll Know You're Winning
Great FORJAK team members don't just complete tasks; they move the needle.
You're winning when:
Every coat you apply meets spec the first time.
Your equipment is set up right, running clean, and handed off in good condition.
You're trusted, consistent, and people want to work alongside you.
You're growing in skills, in responsibility, and as a co-owner of this company.
You bring FIRE to everything you do.
