Built Differently. Owned Together.

FORJAK Industrial isn't your typical construction and coatings company, and we're not looking for a typical Senior Fleet Mechanic.

Founded in 2001 in Circleville, Ohio, FORJAK was built on a simple belief: the people doing the work should share in the success. That's why in 2022, we became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company. When FORJAK wins, you win — literally.

We live by four values we call FIRE: Family · Integrity · Resilience · Excellence

FIRE represents the spirit that fuels FORJAK—who we are, how we work, and what we stand for every day.

The Role

The HR Generalist is a critical part of our Office team. You'll be responsible for helping us find, welcome and take care of the people who make FORJAK run. You'll keep our members safe, certified and compliant, and you'll bring our ownership culture to life. You'll do it with the grit and ownership mindset that defines everyone at FORJAK.

You'll have real ownership here: the trust to make decisions, with leadership in your corner for guidance. And as FORJAK grows, so can you. This role offers room to build your skills and a path toward HR Manager.

This isn't a clock-in, clock-out job. This is a career with a company that has your back, and proof of that is written into our ownership structure.

What You'll Own

On a given day, as an HR Generalist, you will:

  • Lead hiring from start to finish: write job descriptions, post openings, prescreen, interview and hire, and represent FORJAK at job fairs

  • Create a first day people remember: run onboarding with our training team, set up new members in our systems and make sure nothing falls through the cracks

  • Be the accuracy check on weekly payroll, verifying hours and member changes so everyone gets paid right and on time, then hand off to Finance for processing

  • Keep our crews certified and safe by tracking respirator fit tests, lift certifications, OSHA, DOT and driver's licenses, and flagging expirations before they become problems

  • Own workers' comp and unemployment claims, OSHA logs and required postings

  • Support members and leaders through 30-day, 90-day and annual reviews, coaching documentation and workplace concerns, with fairness and follow-through

  • Chair our ESOP Communication Committee and lead the events that make ownership real: vesting celebrations, ESOP trips, retention bonuses and the holiday party

  • Tell the FORJAK story through recruiting content on social media (mostly Facebook) and job postings on our website

  • Adhere to all company safety and work policies.

  • Remain flexible, taking on miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership to support evolving organizational needs.

Do You Have What It Takes?

We're not just filling a seat. We're adding someone to a team of owners.

You must bring:

  • 2+ years of hands-on HR experience (required)

  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices

  • Comfort with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, plus the accuracy to manage data across multiple systems

  • The ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion and integrity

  • Sound judgment to make decisions on your own and know when to bring leadership in

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to stay organized under pressure

  • A team-first attitude. Ego doesn't build great things, people do.

Even better if you have:

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field

  • A PHR or SHRM-CP certification, or plans to earn one

  • Experience in construction, industrial or field-based environments

  • Experience with safety compliance, OSHA recordkeeping or employee engagement programs

How You'll Know You're Winning

Great FORJAK team members don't just complete tasks; they move the needle.

You're winning when:

  • New hires feel welcomed and ready to work from day one

  • No certification expires by surprise, and our crews stay safe and compliant

  • Members come to you because they trust you to listen and follow through

  • Your work makes the field team's job easier and more efficient

  • You're growing in skills, in responsibility, and as a co-owner of this company

  • You bring FIRE to everything you do
