About the Role:
A day in the life: Our Industrial Blast Plant Technician has a keen eye for attention to detail. This role is critical to our manufacturing operations, as you would be responsible for removing rust and other material buildup from rough surfaces using specialized equipment that sprays abrasive materials. The material is typically a mixture of coarse sand and compressed air, which is forced through a hose at high pressure to smooth or clean the surface.
On a given day, as a Industrial Blaster, you will:
Complete surface preparation by removing rust and material buildup from metal surfaces using high-pressure abrasive blasting equipment, creating a smooth base for flawless coating.
Collaborate with our QC manager to ensure blasted surfaces meet quality standards, performing touch-ups as needed to perfect each project.
Set up and operate specialized blasting tools, including blast pots and blast booths, to handle each project with precision.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, keeping equipment, tools, and materials ready for top-notch performance.
Performing advanced masking techniques to protect areas of components that should not be blasted. This requires precision to avoid overblasting or damaging sensitive parts.
This position would assist our industrial handlers in safely moving the metal components as well. These parts rang from 1 lb to 200,000 lbs, varying in all different sizes. This would include rigging parts using slings, straps, and chains. Moving parts inside/outside of the facility on carts using forklifts, telehandlers, and a tug. As well as unloading and loading parts using forklifts, cranes, and telehandlers.
Adhere to company work safety policies.
